All technical and software development is done in-house at DAVID ensuring seamless technology integration and outstanding simplicity of use. Continuous improvement of the treatment protocols is ensured by data gathering and analytics, feedback from the global partner network and multiple research projects. The 35 years of accumulated know-how in biomechanics, medicine, engineering and software development provides a unique foundation for the multidisciplinary development team at DAVID.
DAVID runs it own manufacturing in a small town of Outokumpu in eastern Finland. With a 35-year history in the town, DAVID is a valued company with long-term and loyal employees.
DAVID controls all critical aspects of the production, from CNC milling to welding, powder coating, assembly, electronics installation, testing and packing.
DAVID devices are certified in class 1M (Measurement). This ensures that all development processes follow strict protocols and the devices fulfil the highest safety requirements in mechanical and electronic designs. In addition to the official safety requirements, DAVID gives the highest priority to biomechanical safety, an area which is not covered well by the CE standards, as described here.
For DAVID the ISO 13485 is not just a quality certificate for the production of medical technology. It is also a complete, on-line, process management system that enables everyone in the company to communicate effectively within the company and with clients as well. All projects from development to production and customer support run in the system without a single paper document.
